November 26 to 30, 2012 Advisor Ming Feng Yeh visited Myanmar

To enhance Taiwan-Myanmar economic and trade relations and to urge the Myanmar government to lift a ban of direct trade and investment of Taiwan with and on Myanmar, Advisor Ming Feng Yeh was invited to join in the delegation led by Cynthia Kiang, Deputy Diretor General, Bureau of Foreign Trade, MOEA. During the visit to Myanmar, the delegation not only had meetings with high ranking officials of Yangon and the capital of Myanmar, Naypyitaw, but called on Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry and International Business Promotion Centre. Advisor Yeh proposed to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with UMFCCI with a view to promoting the economic and trade relations between Taiwan and Myanmar. Further, the delegation also visited the Taiwanese entrepreneurs in Myanmar to grasp their investments there and demands.


  The Chinese National Association of Industry & Commerce, Taiwan (CNAIC) just celebrated its 60th Anniversary on September 25, 2012. Over six decades, CNAIC signed cooperation agreements with leading business organizations of 40 countries with the aim of promoting international trade and industrial cooperation. In the recent years, CNAIC has closely collaborated with KEIDANREN (Japan Business Federation) and BUSINESSEUROPE

  BUSINESSEUROPE plays a crucial role in Europe as the main horizontal business organization at EU level. For the time being, through its 41 member federations, BUSINESSEUROPE represents more than 20 million companies from 35 European countries. Secretary General Fritz J. C. Jang on behalf of CNAIC signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Mr. Philippe de Buck, Director General of BUSINESSEUROPE in Brussels on November 21, 2012. Mr. Francis Kuo-Hsin Liang, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) and Mr. Wan-li WANG, Acting Representative, Taipei Representative in the EU and Belgium witnessed the signing ceremony in Brussels.

  The conclusion between CNAIC and BUSINESSEUROPE marks a milestone in strengthening economic relations between Taiwan and EU. In the future, CNAIC will organize high level business delegation to Europe. We firmly believe that the enhancement of industrial and business cooperation between Taiwan and Europe will be conducive to the realization of our government initiative in concluding Economic Cooperation Agreement between Taiwan and Europe.

November 16, 2012 The 40th East Asia Businessmen's Conference Japanese-Taiwan Committee Meeting

The 40th East Asia Businessmen's Conference Japanese Committee was held on November 16, 2012 at KEIDANREN in Tokyo, with attendance of more than 120 business entrepreneurs from Taiwan and Japan. CNAIC Honorary Chairman Theodore M. H. Huang concurrently Chairman of East Asia Businessmen's Conference Taiwan Committee led a sizable business delegation with 60 business leaders from Taiwan. CNAIC Executive Director Mr. Lin Sun San and Advisor of International Affairs Committee Mr. Jia-Hsyung Wu participated in that significant event.

July 13, 2012 The Third Asian Business Summit

On July 13, 2012, representatives from 14 business organizations of 12 Asian economies gathered in Bangkok, Thailand to participate in The Third Asian Business Summit (ABS), co-organized by Joint Standing Committee on Commerce, Industry and Banking of Thailand and KEIDANREN (Japanese Business Federation). CNAIC Vice Chairman Mr. Nelson An-ping Chang attended that significant event and delivered a speech on “Financial Cooperation in Asia”. Mr. Berton B.C. Chiu, Director of Economic Division of Taipei Economic & Cultural Office in Thailand also attended the said Summit as Adviser of CNAIC.

March 30, 2012 The Asian Business Summit (ABS) Steering Committee Meeting

The 3rd Asian Business Summit (ABS) is scheduled to be held in Bangkok Thailand from July 12 to 13, 2012. Keidanren (Japan Business Federation) and the Joint Standing Committee on Commerce, Industry and Banking of Thailand (JSCCIB) hosted the Steering Committee Meeting in Bangkok on March 30, 2012. Secretary General Fritz J. C. Jang attended the said meeting as member of the Steering Committee.
