Chairman Lo Attend the 11th World Chinese Entrepreneurs Convention in Singapore

The 11th World Chinese Entrepreneurs Convention was held from October 5 through 7, 2011 in Singapore, with attendance of around 4,000 overseas Chinese entrepreneurs. CNAIC Chairman Kenneth C. M. Lo accompanied by Secretary General Jang participated in that significant event at the invitation of the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry. Chairman served as one of the panelist at the discussion on “Successful Chinese Entrepreneurs: Business Strategies, responsibilities and Growth”. On this visit, Chairman Lo and Secretary General Jang also called on the Singapore Business Federation (SBF), and exchanged views on the enhancement of trade and industrial cooperation between Taiwan and Singapore.

Secretary General Jang Join MOEA Delegation to Czech Republic, Ireland and U.K.

The Korea-EU Free Trade Agreement (Korea-EU FTA) has been effective as from July 1, 2011. This move has exerted great impact on imports from Taiwan to EU. In coping with this move, our Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) has taken an initiative in concluding EU-Taiwan Economic Cooperation Agreement with EU. Mr. Sheng-Chung Lin, MOEA Deputy Minister, led a delegation to Czech Republic, Ireland and U.K. from October 9 through 13, 2011, to attend seminars on EU-Taiwan Economic Cooperation Agreement held in Prague, Dublin and London. CNAIC Secretary General Jang joined the delegation, and delivered speeches on “Taiwan-EU Economic Cooperation Agreement – Benefits to Taiwan and EU Industries” at the said seminars.

September 29, 2011 The Second Asian Business Summit

On September 29, 2011, representatives from 16 business organizations of 11 Asian economies gathered in Tokyo, Japan to participate in The Second Asian Business Summit (ABS), organized by Nippon Keidanren (Japanese Business Federation). Chairman of CNAIC Mr. Kenneth C. M. Lo was invited to attend that significant event and to deliver a speech on “Financial Cooperation in Asia”.

May 7 to 13, 2011  Secretary General Fritz J. C. Jang visited the Netherlands, Denmark and Sweden

Secretary General Fritz J. C. Jang was invited to join the delegation led by Mr. M. S. Chen, Deputy Director General of Board of Foreign Trade, MOEA and attended the Seminar on New Opportunities for European Businesses after ECFA in the Netherlands and Denmark respectively. On May 12, 2011, Mr. Jang attended the 27th Sweden-Chinese Joint Business Council Meeting at Stockholm, Sweden.

February 20 to 26, 2011  Mr. Theodore M. H. Huang, Honorary Chairman of CNAIC, visited India

Honorary Chairman Huang was invited to join the delegation led by Dr. Christina Y. Liu, Minister, Council for Economic Planning and Development and attended the “Taiwan-India Investment Seminar” held in New Delhi, Mumbai and Ahmedabad respectively.
