The Korea-EU Free Trade Agreement (Korea-EU FTA) has been effective as from July 1, 2011. This move has exerted great impact on imports from Taiwan to EU. In coping with this move, our Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) has taken an initiative in concluding EU-Taiwan Economic Cooperation Agreement with EU. Mr. Sheng-Chung Lin, MOEA Deputy Minister, led a delegation to Czech Republic, Ireland and U.K. from October 9 through 13, 2011, to attend seminars on EU-Taiwan Economic Cooperation Agreement held in Prague, Dublin and London. CNAIC Secretary General Jang joined the delegation, and delivered speeches on “Taiwan-EU Economic Cooperation Agreement – Benefits to Taiwan and EU Industries” at the said seminars.
