August 18, 2014 CNAIC Industry and Commerce Forum

Mr. Liang-Tung Fan, CNAIC Secretary General, chaired the Seminar on business opportunity and benefit of ANZTEC (New Zealand and the Separate Customs Territory of Taiwan, Penghu, Kinmen, and Matsu on Economic Cooperation) and ASTEP (the Agreement between Singapore and the Separate Customs Territory of Taiwan, Penghu, Kinmen and Matsu on Economic Partnership) at the Taipei International Convention Center on August 18, 2014. CNAIC invited both of Ms. Wan-Jung Day, Director, Second Bilateral Trade Division, Bureau of Foreign Trade, Ministry of Economic Affairs and Ms. Chaw-Hsia Tu, Research Fellow, Chung-Hua Institution for Economic Research delivered presentations at the said seminar. Following the presentation, Mr. Liang-Tung Fan moderated the panel discussion with Ms. Wan-Jung Day, Ms. Chaw-Hsia Tu, Mr. Ji-Tang Chen, Deputy Director, Strategic Marketing Department, Taiwan External Trade Development Council and Ms. Shelly Fan, Secretary of the Chairman, Taiwan Bicycle Association as panelists. An audience of 70 members attended the seminar.



CNAIC invited Dr. Philippe de Buck, Former Director General of BUSINESSEUROPE to visit Taiwan. Dr. de Buck delivered a speech on “Is the EU on track?

With a view to further promoting industrial cooperation between Taiwan and EU, CNAIC invited Dr. Philippe de Buck, Former Director General of BUSINESSEUROPE, to visit Taiwan. During his stay in Taiwan, Dr. de Buck delivered a speech on “Is the EU on track? Can we do business together?” at CNAIC International Business Forum at PALAIS de CHINE HOTEL on November 6th, 2014. Following the speech, CNAIC invited Dr. Hungdah Su, Director General of European Union Centre in Taiwan and Dr. Allen Tsai, Managing Director of BNP Paribas Taiwan to join the Panel Discussion moderated by Mr. Nelson An-ping Chang, Honorary Chairman of CNAIC. The Forum turned out to be a great success with more than 200 participants.

May 14, 2014 Taiwan-Japan Railways & Tourism Industry Cooperation Forum

Mr. Theodore M. H. Huang, Honorary Chairman of CNAIC chaired the “Taiwan-Japan Railroad & Travel Industry Cooperation Forum” at Taipei International Convention Center on May 14, 2014. CNAIC invited Mr. Satoshi Seino, Chairman of East Japan Railway Company (JR-East) to deliver a speech on “Efforts of JR-East”. Following the speech, CNAIC invited Mr. Tomomichi Ota, General Manager of International Department, JR-East, Mr. Hiroyuki Sawada, Deputy General Manager of Tourism Strategy Office , JR-East, Mr. Joe Yung-Hui Chou, Director-General, Taiwan Railways Administration, Ministry of Transportation and Communications, Dr. Kung-Yeun James Jeng, Chief Executive Officer of Taiwan High Speed Rail Corporation and Ms. Seh-Jen Lai, Chairman of Taiwan Visitors Association to join the panel discussion moderated by Mr. Theodore M. H. Huang, Honorary Chairman of CNAIC. The Forum turned out to be a great success with more than 250 participants.


April 18, 2014 CNAIC International Competitiveness Forum

CNAIC Chairman Kenneth C. M. Lo chaired the “2014 CNAIC International Competitiveness Forum” at Taipei International Convention Center on April 18, 2014. CNAIC invited Prof. Dominique V. Turpin, President of International Institute for Management Development (IMD), and Prof. Arturo Birs, Director of IMD World Competitiveness Center, to visit Taiwan and to respectively deliver speeches on “Five Macro-trends That Are Shaping the New Competitive Landscape” and “The Competitiveness Challenge: Case of Taiwan.”Prof. Turpin and Prof. Bris illustrated and elaborated industrial innovation, branding, and Taiwan’s competitiveness. Following the speech, CNAIC invited Dr. Yen-Shiang Shih, Chairman of Sinotech Engineering Consultants Inc. to join the Panel Discussion moderated by CNAIC Vice Chairman Nelson An-ping Chang. The Forum turned out to be a great success with more than 250 participants.


Mar 17, 2014 CNAIC Industry and Commerce Forum

Mr. Liang-Tung Fan, CNAIC Secretary General, chaired the Seminar on Investment Environment in Russia at the Taipei International Convention Center on Mar 17, 2014. CNAIC invited Mr. Paul Chen-Fu Wang, Chief Secretary, Bureau of Foreign Trade, Ministry of Economic Affairs, to deliver his remarks. Mr. Fu-Cheng Wu, Deputy Director of Department of International Affairs, Taiwan Institute of Economic Research delivered a presentation at the said seminar. Following the presentation, Mr. Thomas M. F. Yeh, CNAIC Advisor moderated the panel discussion with Mr. Fu-Cheng Wu, Mr. Bai-Ku Wei, Vice Secretary General of Taiwan Russia Association, and Mr. Yu Ou Yang, Chairman of ANKO Food Machine Co., Ltd. as panelists. An audience of 50 members attended the seminar.
