2025年09月01日

On his first day in office, Minister of Economic Affairs Dr. Kung, Ming-Hsin convened a meeting with leaders of Taiwan’s industrial and commercial groups on September 1, 2025, in a bid to listen to their voices and to conduct an exchange of views on issues related to Taiwan's economy and industrial development.

CNAIC was represented by its Chairman Mr. Thomas T. L. Wu at the meeting. In his remarks, Chairman Wu began by thanking Minister Kung for the great assistance he had extended to CNAIC in his capacity as Minister of the National Development Council (NDC). As Minister of the NDC, Dr. Kung actively participated in CNAIC’s "Industrial and Commercial Breakfast/Lunch Meetings" and helped address problems faced by the business community. Taking advantage of the occasion, Chairman Wu also made several suggestions on issues of concern to the private sector, including reciprocal tariffs, exchange rates, labor, energy, and sustainability, hoping to work hand-in-hand with the Ministry of Economic Affairs to ensure the stable economic growth of Taiwan and strengthen industries’ sustainable competitiveness.

In return, Minister Kung replied to suggestions raised by the meeting participants item by item, and promised to conduct dialogues with business representatives on a regular basis. He also agreed to solve the problems encountered by the industries through coordination across government agencies involved. The atmosphere of the meeting was candid and lively, with extensive media coverage.
